Louisa set her straight. ‘The Riviera doesn’t have chips on Tuesdays, you dummy, now just hold onto my hand and stop jumping around, you’re not Pippi Longstocking.’

‘She could have a pie from Charlie the grocer,’ Cam suggested.

Mrs Murphy frowned at him and shook her head. ‘I think we’ll just settle for sandwiches all round, thank you Cam, I don’t want everyone going off in all different directions.’

The author reveals what is happening without actually quoting any of the characters.
